Series Rules

1. Race Communications - Discord

​

  1. All drivers are required to have a working microphone/headset.

  2. Cyber-bullying is not welcome in this league. Any member who violates this rule will be removed from the league upon discovery. This includes in-race chat, all social media platforms, Discord, etc.

  3. Race chat should be used to communicate with other drivers regarding the race. Any personal conversation should be conducted in your team Discord channel. We can create a private team channel at your request.

  4. Use of Discord during the race is required as our broadcasters interview random drivers during caution periods and interviews the Top 3 finishers after every race. You are required to participate in post race interviews if you finish in the Top 3.

  5. If you choose to engage in arguments on race chat, you will be told by and admin to stop. If you continue to argue after your warning you will be disqualified from the race and all points for the event will be forfeited.

  6. Any comments deemed overly disrespectful/hateful to an admin or another racer will result in you being disqualified from the current race. After your second offense, you will be removed from the league. 

  7. Any driver that is not in Discord prior to qualifying will be disqualified and removed from the session.

2. New Driver Cutoff

​

  1. New Driver applications will not be accepted after the Playoffs have begun.

  2. Drivers that apply after the Playoffs begin will be eligable to join at the start of the new season.

 

3. Practice

​

  1. Practice session will open at or around 8:00pm ET.

  2. Practices will be 30 minutes long unless otherwise stated.

​

4. Qualifying

​

  1. Qualifying will be a 1 lap, 5 minute session.

  2. End of Line Penalties will not be given at the start of a race.

  3. Qualifying conduct will be set to moderate. If you receive a black flag during qualifying, it will not be cleared under any circumstances.

  4. If you do not intend to qualify, hit the "Ready to Race" button.

5. In-Race

​

  1. All races are run with no Fast Repairs unless otherwise stated.

  2. The leader will have lane choice on all restarts and must make his decision known prior to Turn 1 on "One to Green."

  3. All starts and restarts are controlled by the green flag and the Restart Zone. Jumping a start or starting outside the Restart Zone will result in a penalty. Drivers deemed to have jumped a start in post-race review that did not get penalized during the race will receive a 25 point penalty.

  4. Drivers must maintain their line prior to crossing the start/finish line on a restart unless they are trying to avoid an incident. Doing so will result in a penalty.

  5. Bumping in the tri-oval prior to the green flag and causing and incident will result in a 30-second penalty that will be served under green flag conditions.

  6. No drivers are permitted to go onto the apron on a restart before reaching the start/finish line unless it's to avoid or to avoid causing a wreck. Doing so will result in a Drive-through penalty to be served under green flag conditions.

  7. Intentionally laying back on restarts to gain positions is prohibited and will result in a 10-point penalty per violation.

  8. There shall be no passing below the yellow line at Daytona or Talladega unless you are forced below the line or are avoiding an incident. Doing so and not returning the positions gained will result in a penalty pending admin review.

  9. If you are forced onto the apron or below the racing surface during green flag conditions, do not force yourself back onto the track. Stay on the apron and fall back in line when it is safe to do so.

  10. Should an incident occur, do your best to slow down and avoid it. "ARCA Braking" is not accepted and will result in a penalty.

  11. If an incident involving a Playoff driver(s) occurs during the final lap of any race, the admins will refer to iRacing timing and scoring regarless of cause or fault.

  12. Lapped cars are expected to yield to lead lap cars. Lapped cars yielding to lead lap cars should stay out of the preferred line. Lapped cars are required to run single file in the lane specified by the lead lap cars approaching or the highest line on track.

  13. If you are involved in an accident or are running out of fuel on the final lap, you must cross the finish line at the checkered flag under your own power. You must be able to maintain pace speed under your own power. You may not be pushed by another driver. If you are pushed to the finish by another car/truck, both drivers will be placed in last place on their respective lap.

  14. Intentional wrecking is not permitted. All claims of intentional wrecking will be taken seriously and reviewed post race.

  15. If you choose to intentionally wreck after a race, you are required to wait until you have passed Turn 2 to do so. This is in place so drivers still completing their race are not affected by your actions.


6. Cautions

​

  1. Pace car speed should be maintained at all times under caution.

  2. Failure to maintain pace speed will result in a penalty.

  3. Drivers should maintain a single file formation until instructed by iRacing to got to double-file. If you choose to drive off course during a caution, you will be given an End of Line penalty for not staying on the track. This includes the bus stop at Daytona and the grass and either track.

  4. Stay on the low line to allow the Lucky Dog recipient to pass without issue.

  5. If you are the Lucky Dog recipient, please alert drivers as you come up on them to avoid them accidently swerving into the outside lane.

  6. There will be no admin cautions thrown unless deemed necessary by a non-racing admin.

7. Pitting

​

  1. Any and all penalties entering, while on and exiting pit road given by iRacing will not be cleared.

  2. Do not drive through more than five (5) pit stalls prior to stopping in your own. Failure to do so will result in a penalty.

  3. Anyone using the fast repair glitch will be permanently removed from the league and may not reapply.

​

8. Damaged Cars

​

  1. Cars with an excessive amount of crash damage will be given an End of Line penalty if they are unable to maintain pace speed. To prevent unnecessary iRacing black flags, ask an admin for an End of Line penalty to be assessed if you are unable to line up in your specified position.

  2. If you can not make it back to pit road while maintaining pace speed you must tow your vehicle.

 

9. Connectivity Issues

​

  1. Your connection to the server is not controlled or maintained by the iRacing East Series. If you disconnect, you may re-enter the server and you will not receive wave arounds to regain your position.

  2. If your car is blinking and the issue is not corrected in a timely manner, you will be asked to drop to the back of the field until the issue is corrected. If the issue continues and it causes an accident during the race session, you will be asked to park your car in the pits until the issue is resolved.

  3. Being asked to park until the issue is resolved will not result in any penalties and you will be awarded points based on where you finish.

  4. If you are asked to drop to the back of the field due to connection issues and you fail to do so in a timely manner, you will be disqualified and removed from the session and receive no points for the event.

10. Points System

​

  1. The current NASCAR points system will be used for all races were points will be awarded.

​

11. Bonus Points

​

Bonus points will be awarded as follows:

     -Pole Position- +5 points

     -Leading a Lap- +1 point

     -Leading Most Laps- +5 points

     -Fastest Race Lap- +1 point

     -Most Positions Gained (Circle B Diecast Hard Charger Award)- +1 point

     -Zero Incident Points (Mr. Clean Award)- +1 point

     -Win Race- Automatic Playoff birth (If minimum race requirement is met)

 

12. Playoff Qualification and Format

​

  1. The Playoffs will consist of 16 drivers and will be 3 rounds and the Championship Race.

  2. You must compete in eight (8) regular season races to be eligible for the Playoffs.

  3. Substitute drivers are not permitted to race in place of Playoff drivers.

  4. Drivers with a win, participation in the minimum amount of races, and in the top 25 in points are automatically qualified for the Playoffs.

  5. The remainder of the Playoff field will be set via season points standings for drivers without a win until the 16 drivers are filled.

  6. In the event of a tiebreaker, we will go by the amount of total Top 5's. If we need another tiebreaker, we will use total top 10's.

  7. Regular season wins will count for 20 points in the first round, 10 points in the second round, and 5 points in the third round.

  8. The first 3 rounds of the Playoffs will consist of 2 races. The Championship Race will be 1 race. there will be no bonus points issued for Playoff drivers for winning the final race and will be a heads up race.

  9. If you win a race during the first 3 rounds of the Playoffs, the winning driver will automatically advance to the next round.

  10. Winning a chase race will not give you any additional bonus race win points towards the next round.

  11. Round 1 will consist of 16 drivers (points reset at 2,000 + 20 points for each regular season race win) and will be 2 races. The lowest 4 in points at the end of Round 1 will be eliminated from the Playoffs.

  12. Round 2 will consist of 12 drivers (points reset at 3,000 + 10 points for each regular season race win) and will be 2 races. The lowest 4 in points at the end of Round 2 will be eliminated from the Playoffs.

  13. Round 3 will consist of 8 drivers (points reset at 4,000 + 5 points for each regular season race win) and will be 2 races. The lowest 4 in points at the end of Round 3 will be eliminated from the Playoffs.

  14. The Championship Race will consist of 4 drivers (points reset at 5,000 points). This is a heads up race with no bonus points for the 4 chase drivers.

13. Penalties

​

  1. If you cause an accident, you are required to inform race control and you will be given an End of Line Penalty after the completion of pit stops. If two drivers are involved and neither driver accepts blame for the incident, both drivers will receive an End of Line penalty after the completion of pit stops.

  2. If a driver causes an avoidable incident within the first lap of a start or restart, that driver will receive a 30-second stop-go penalty under green flag conditions. If the same driver causes another avoidable incident within the first lap of a restart during any point of the same race, that driver will be disqualified for the session and will be scored in last place.

  3. If for any reason you are disqualified from a race, you will lose all race and bonus points for that race.

  4. If a driver is disqualified from two (2) or more races for any reason, they will be removed from the league.

  5. If for any reason you are suspended, you are suspended for the specified period of time. This includes spotting, practicing, special events, etc. 

  6. Causing an avoidable incident will result in an End of Line penalty. Second offense is a 30-second stop-go penalty under green flag conditions. A third offense will be a disqualification.

  7. Intentionally wrecking another driver will result in a 25 point penalty. Aecond offense will result in a disqualification and a one (1) week suspension. A third offense you will result in expulsion from the league.

  8. Using iRacing glitches will result in a disqualification (if found in-race) and immediate expulsion from the league.

  9. Intentionally spinning out or crashing to help yourself or a teammate will result in loss of all session points and a one (1) week suspension. A second offense will result in expulsion from the league.

  10. A lapped car failing to yield to lead lap car and causing an incident will result in a 30-second stop-go penalty to be served under green flag conditions. Second offense on the season will result in a disqualification. A third offense on the season will result in expulsion from the league.

  11. Causing another driver to get a black flag will result in a 30-second stop-go penalty to be served under green flag conditions.

14. Clearing Black Flags

​

The following scenarios warrant black flags being cleared:

     -Passing a car under caution that can not maintain pace speed

     -Entering the pits to avoid a wreck.

​

  1. Black flags and penalties will be cleared as soon as it is reasonable for race control to take such action. All black flags and wave arounds will be reviewed after the race. If you are found to have taken advantage of this system and have a black flag cleared and/or issued a wave around, you will be scored in last place for the session and begin the next race you participate in with a green flag pass through. 2nd offense will result in a one (1) week suspension.

  2. Black flags will not be cleared during green flag conditions. If you wrongfully receive a black flag and have to serve a penalty, the admins will issue a wave around during the next caution. The driver that caused you to receive a black flag will be penalized per Section 13-1 of the rule book.

 

15. Admin Review and Protested Incidents

​

All race incidents are reviewed by admins and points penalties may be assessed as follows:

​

     -ARCA Braking- 5 point penalty per car involved

     -Jumping Start/Restart- 5 point penalty and win taken away (if necessary)

     -Failure to yield to lead lap cars- 5 point penalty per car involved

     -Passing before the start/finish line- 5 point penalty and win taken away (if necessary)

     -Changing lanes before the start/finish line- 5 point penalty

     -Causing an avoidable incident- 5 point penalty per car involved

     -Blocking causing an incident- 5 point penalty per car involved

     -Passing below the yellow line- 15 point penalty

​

Actions detrimental to the league including social media posts and broadcast interviews will be a 25 point penalty. Second offense will be a one (1) week suspension and loss of all session points. A third offense will result in expulsion from the league.
